EDWIN GUEVARA GUTIÉRREZ, Guitarist, composer, arranger and director. He began his studies at the age of 3 under the mentorship of his father Roberto Guevara and later entered the National Conservatory of Colombia to study guitar with Ramiro Isaza and composition, choral conducting and orchestra with Blas Emilio Atheortua and Gustavo Yepes. He has recorded 50 discs in different formats and genres and has obtained 67 national and international performance awards such as the Miguel Llobet, Celedonio Romero, Arjau awards in Spain, Leo Brouwer in Cuba, 1st prize at the Latin American Guitar Festival in Chicago (USA) among others. He received classes from prestigious masters such as Abel Carlevaro, Alvaro Pierri, Eduardo Fernandez, Leo Brouwer, David Rusell, Pavel Steidl, Pepe Romero, among others.
He has performed as a concert performer in Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Peru, Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico, USA, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Russia, Lebanon, India, Egypt and Jordan. He has been invited to various international guitar festivals and has been soloist with various orchestras such as the Colombian Youth Symphony Orchestra, Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, Malaga Celedonio Romero Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Opera Orchestra, Barcelona Grand Lice Theater Orchestra , Ibero-American Orchestra of Catalonia, Bogota Symphony Orchestra, Bogota Chamber Orchestra, Michoacan Symphony Orchestra, Del Valle University Symphony Orchestra. Receives the Superior and Improvement Title in Guitar of the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Lyceum of Barcelona under Guillem Perez-Quer's guide and is Magister in the symphonic direction of the National University of Colombia.
Conforms with Venezuelan violoncellist Cecilia Palma the renowned Duo Villa-Lobos with whom they will soon make an international launch of the production "Music of Europe of the East and South America, for Cello and Guitar" under the Naxos label. Permanent guest as performer, jury and teacher to different international festivals. His compositions are published by Periferia Music in Barcelona, Tutto Music in Germany, and he is an informer and musical reviewer of the work of the Colombian composer Gentil Montaña for the Caroní Music publishing house in France. Since December 2016 he is one of the composers of Bergmann Editions of Denmark. As director he has been with the Ensemble Promusic of Barcelona, Caldas Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Musicum Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the National Conservatory of Colombia, Symphonic Orchestra of the National Pedagogical University and currently titular director of the Filadelfia Philharmonic Orchestra in Bogota, de The Guitars Orchestra of the National Pedagogical University and director of the Guitar Quartet of Bogotá. He is currently a guitar teacher at the National Pedagogical University.
In 2005 he was considered by the Cervantes Institute of Spain as one of the ten best guitarists and musicians of Latin America. He is SAVINO MUSIC artist from the United States and Knobloch Strings from Spain.
